When you and your GP agree that you need to see a specialist, the NHS e-Referral Service allows you to choose your hospital or clinic and book an appointment with a specialist “online”.
You will be able to choose, with the help of your GP, up to at least four hospitals or clinics.
What to Expect
Your GP will discuss with you the reasons for your referral and will offer a choice of hospitals that meet your needs. Once you have decided which hospital you wish to attend, an administrator, within the practice, will contact you. You will be asked to collect some paperwork from reception. This is your referral confirmation details. Please keep these in a safe place.
